Optus’ Candice Lester joins Huawei as head of consumer PR and communications
Chinese multinational telecommunications company Huawei has hired Candice Lester as its head of PR and communications for Australia and New Zealand.
Lester’s appointment comes just after the company was allegedly found to be facing a criminal investigation in the US over allegations it stole trade secrets.

In her previous role Lester was a corporate affairs manager at Optus for two years.
Prior to Optus she was the public relations manager for P&O Cruises for a year.
Lester said in a statement to Mumbrella: “It’s an honour to be appointed the Head of PR and Communications for Huawei’s Australian consumer business.
“Huawei offers some of the most advanced consumer products in market and I’m looking forward to delivering high impact PR campaigns to support the business.”
