Optus launches Tik Tok dance challenge

Optus has partnered with Tik Tok on a dance challenge which celebrates the end of COVID-19 lockdowns while encouraging people to stay safe during the ongoing threat of the pandemic.

The #YeahWeBack challenge kicks off this weekend and runs for a week across the social media platform. The 20-second clip incorporates social distancing into a dance routine, paired with a rap from Indigenous artist Danzal Baker, also known as Baker Boy.

Optus head of marketing Mel Hopkins said the partnership is a celebratory one.

“It’s no secret the last few months have come with their fair share of challenges. We are delighted to be able to celebrate the awesome music of Baker Boy as we move into a new stage post COVID where you can start to reconnect with friends and family with some tunes and dance,” said Hopkins.

The challenge begins Saturday, June 13 and concludes June 20. On Sunday 14 June, Tik Tok will feature a 24-hour take over to promote the challenge on the platform. Two weeks later, once multiple submissions have been received, a compilation video will be prepared.
