Optus unveils on-air coverage talent for EURO and Copa tournaments
Optus has unveiled the on-air talent for its coverage of the CONMEBOL Copa America USA 2024 and UEFA EURO 2024.
The announcement:
Socceroos legends John Aloisi and Mark Schwarzer, and former England international Jay Bothroyd, headline a star-studded roster of on-air talent for Optus Sport’s wall-to-wall coverage of UEFA EURO 2024™ and CONMEBOL Copa America USA 2024™.
The trio will be joined for the tournament across Germany and back in Optus Sport’s Sydney studio by Michael Bridges, Thomas Sorensen, Milos Ninkovic, Scott McDonald, Alexander Baumjohann, David Zdrilic, Tommy Oar, Esteban Quintas, Amy Chapman, Amy Harrison, Cote Rojas, Phil Kitromilides, Katie Shanahan, Julien Laurens, Claudio Fabiano, Michelle Escobar, Adamo De Nigris, Betty Glover and Max Merrill.
Together, they will dissect everything UEFA EURO 2024™, which brings together the biggest teams and the best players from across Europe, as 24 teams compete in a bid to lift the Henri Delaunay Cup and be crowned champions when the final is played on Monday, July 15 (AEST).
Defending champions Italy will look to retain their status, though France, England, Germany, Spain, and Portugal are among the favourites this time around.
They’ll also lend their expert eyes to CONMEBOL Copa America USA 2024™, which the USA will both host and participate in alongside the footballing powerhouses of South America, such as Brazil and Argentina.
All eyes will be on Lionel Messi’s Argentina side who will be looking to defend their title and go back-to-back, in what is expected to be the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner’s final international tournament appearance.
Bringing together some of the brightest football minds and world-class broadcast talent – including Socceroos and Matildas legends – the on-air team will complement Optus Sport’s coverage of all the matches from UEFA EURO 2024™ and CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024™.
The action begins on Saturday, June 15, at 5am (AEST) when hosts Germany take on Scotland from the Allianz Arena in Munich.
