Original Source sponsors Tough Mudder
A body care product is encouraging users to get muddy by sponsoring an 18-20km endurance race dubbed ‘Probably the toughest event on the planet’.
Original Source, a PZ Cussons brand, has sponsored the Tough Mudder race that puts racers, or ‘mudders’, through an obstacle course of mud, fire, ice and 10,000 volts of electricity, ending in an ‘Original Source Hose Down’.
The endurance event will take place on 31 March and 1 April on Phillip Island, Victoria.
Yolanda Uys, GM of marketing at PZ Cussons said: “We’re excited to be part of this unique event and looking forward to all participants enjoying a refreshingly intense hose down after they cross the finish line.”
Dan Weinberg, director of strategic partnerships for Tough Mudder, said: “We feel they are the perfect fit, as Tough Mudder is not only one of the toughest events around but also one of the muddiest. It’s great to have Original Source’s help to get our participants clean after they put themselves to the ultimate test.”
Brand activation will be carried out on site as well as online via the Original Source Facebook page.
the classic “Probably the toughest event on the planet” line.
The reality, not teen close.
In Australia, Tough Blokes is the “easiest” with a seven kay obstacle course in Melbourne and Sydney.
Tough Mudder comes in second hardest with a 16 – 20 kay course. Though it’s temporary so it’ll be interesting to see what they build.
The toughest by a long margin is an event called Spartan. Some of their courses are 40 keys long. They are coming to Australia next year.

What, a military style obstacle course? It’s not exactly a multi day, or even a 24 hr, endurance event – of which there are plenty of. Sounds like a rip-off of Tough Blokes to me as well.
