Outdoor industry reports net revenue of $63.4m for May

The Outdoor Media Association has published new numbers for the month of May.

The announcement:

The Out-of-Home (OOH) industry today reported a net revenue of $63.4 million for the month of May, an increase of 19.6% from the same month last year, which posted a net revenue of $53.0 million.*

Year-to-date revenue has increased by 17.8%, tracking at $295.0 million, up from $250.5 million* for the same time last year. Digital Out-of-Home revenue makes up 36.8% of total revenue year to date, up from 22.5% for the same period last year. The OOH industry finished 2015 on a record high of $677.8 million, up from $579.3 million in 2014.
Category figures May 2016:

·       Roadside Billboards (over and under 25 square metres) $23.2 million
·       Roadside Other (street furniture, taxis, bus/tram externals,
small format)
$18.4 million

 

·       Transport (including airports) $11.6 million
·      Retail, Lifestyle and Other^ $10.2 million

 *Previous years figures have been adjusted to reflect changes in OMA membership to allow for direct comparisons in revenue year-on-year.

^Reported in this category are: shopping centre panels, as well as all place-based digital signs including office media – covering signs in lifts and office buildings, cafe panels, and digital screens in doctors surgeries and medical centres.
