Founder of Clarity Global Group resigns, replacement named

Founder and CEO of Clarity Global Group, Sami McCabe, has departed the business one year after acquiring Australian-based Sefiani Communications.

Posting to LinkedIn on Thursday evening, McCabe wrote: “This is my last week at Clarity, the company I founded 11 years ago.

“It’s been an amazing journey building the business from zero to 150 wonderful people across seven locations, and becoming a trusted partner to an incredible roster of blue chip clients globally.”

He continued: “Clarity’s future is incredibly bright and whilst I’ll no longer be directly involved in the business, I’ll be cheering you all on from the sidelines.”

In January 2023, after 23 years of being privately owned, Sefiani Communications was wholly acquired by the global business – its first move in the APAC region.

McCabe told Mumbrella at the time: “The alignment of values and culture – it was really evident from the get-go that there was close alignment on those important things between Clarity and Sefiani.

“As opposed to immediately landing in Singapore or Hong Kong, this is a much more straightforward gateway into the region. It’s important to recognise that Australia in itself is important, and we see plenty of growth locally as well,” he said.

“I’m very focused on ensuring that we have a strong and sustainable future for the agency,” Sefiani Communications boss Robyn Sefiani told Mumbrella at the time.

“It’s business as usual, but better, because we now have access to digital and data capability… and a global presence.

“Clarity  is a highly aspirational and ambitious company. I think we are in for an exciting ride of rapid growth.”

Speaking at Mumbrella360 last year, McCabe was joined by Sefiani in a fireside chat on the acquisition. The pair talked about the reasoning behind the sale, why now was the right time and how Sefiani’s integration into Clarity Global is progressing. They also discussed why it was important to maintain Sefiani’s name in market.

Clarity Global Group’s UK-based chief client officer, Rachel Gilley, will replace McCabe in the CEO position.

Gilley joined the business in 2019 as managing director and president of the UK office, before becoming chief client officer last year.

“I couldn’t think of a better person to build on our awesome foundations, and take Clarity to new heights,” McCabe concluded.
