Paramount+ arrives on PlayStation 5 in Australia

Paramount+ is now accessible via its app on the PlayStation 5 in Australia.

The expansion of the service’s accessibility channels means that PlayStation users will be able to download the Paramount+ app directly to their consoles, and subscribe to its plans.

The subscription will unlock a wide array of overseas and Australian content, such as the Asher Keddie-led original series Fake, the Australian spin-off of American crime show NCIS, NCIS: Sydney, and prolific Nickelodean cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants.

Customers will also have access to live sports, including matches featuring the Socceroos and Matildas, and A-Leagues games.

“At Paramount we have long believed in the power of collaborations to grow scale and help build our brands and franchises, while creating shared value with global and local players,” said Paramount Australia’s vice president, partner management and business development – streaming, Lachlan Roach.

“This upcoming launch of Paramount+ on PlayStation 5 consoles is another testament of our commitment to make our popular content, characters and franchises available to an expanded audience.”

Paramount’s new partnership with PlayStation comes about a month after news broke that the service’s standard subscription prices are set to increase in late August – with the current $9.99 (monthly) and $89.99 (yearly) pricing to become $10.99 and $97.99, respectively.

The service’s Basic and Premium plans are not expected to change.
