Paramount promo material goes tapeless

Paramount Pictures has signed up the services of D-Star Media to deliver video content digitally to broadcasters.

The deal will see the distributor’s movie trailers, EPK footage and TVCs submitted tapelessly to free-to-air and pay-TV broadcasters and online, leaving videotape delivery behind. D-Star Media is part of The Shooting Star Picture Company, which also owns alternative content venture Cinema Live.  It first started delivering audio content to radio stations and broadcasters, and is now entering the film industry with Paramount is its first client.

Encore understands D-Star is finalising another contract with a second film distributor, one based in Newtown, NSW.
