Parker & Partners names Vincent Sheehy as director of government relations
Public affairs agency Parker & Partners has appointed Vincent Sheehy as director of government relations, filling the void left by Michael Hartmann, who departed at the end of last year.
Sheehy brings more than 15 years experience advising in government and opposition to the role. He was most recently the chief of staff for the Federal Minister for Small Business, Bruce Billson.
Ogilvy’s PR group managing director-corporate, Susan Redden Makatoa, said in a statement: “In a constantly changing political environment, Vincent has a substantial and proven record working with Ministers, Departments and stakeholders to successfully deliver outcomes. Parker & Partners’ and Ogilvy PR’s clients are now set to benefit from his experience and knowledge.
“Vincent’s background in government, network of influential contacts and knowledge of the political processes will further strengthen Parker & Partners, a recognised industry leader that works with the federal, state and territory governments, oppositions and minor parties to provide sound advice and effective campaigns.”
Hartmann was appointed as director of communications for the Law Council of Australia in November.
Sheehey’s appointment is effective immediately and will see him head Parker’s Canberra operations.
