Paul B Kidd to join John Stanley for Weekends with John and Paul on 2GB and 4BC

Paul B Kidd and John Stanley are set to team up on Nine Radio’s 2GB and 4BC for a new program – Weekends with John and Paul.

The show will run on weekends from 2 – 6pm. This puts the program in the slot usually held by The Weekend Edition with Erin Molan and Natalie Peters. Molan is currently on a break over the summer radio period, but will return for the rugby league coverage, while Peters will continue in her usual role as Sydney news director for the business and as a fill-in radio host where required.

John Stanley and Paul B Kidd will co-host a weekend program together on 2GB and 4BC

Kidd could previously be heard on the The George and Paul Show which ran from 9am – 2pm on 2GB on the weekends. His co-host, George Moore, resigned in October 2019 after failing to come to an agreement with Macquarie Media management. That was before Nine took full ownership of the radio assets, now renamed to Nine Radio, which saw the departure of CEO Adam Lang and the introduction of Tom Malone as managing director.

The new programming will continue where The George and Paul Show left off, with similar segments and guests. It will launch on January 18, following Chris Smith’s first outing with the radio business after he returned under Nine management.

Stanley will also continue in his role as Nights host from 8pm to 12am.

At this stage the show seems to only be a fill-in until the rugby league begins and its future with the station isn’t yet guaranteed.

Nine Radio also made the decision last week to syndicate its overnight programming across 2GB, 3AW and 4BC, with Michael McLaren to host.
