Pedestrian to launch ‘Australian first Web3’ publication
Pedestrian Group has advertised seven roles for the launch team of a new “Australian first Web3-focused publication” on its website, Mumbrella can reveal.
The roles advertised include managing editor, head of editorial, cryptocurrency reporter, commissioning editor, NFT reporter, business reporter and commissioning manager.
When approached for comment, Matt Rowley, CEO of Pedestrian Group told Mumbrella: “Pedestrian Group is excited to be launching a new publication focused on sorting fact from fiction while immersing itself in the exhilarating ride that is all things Web3 (including crypto, NFTs, decentralised finance) in the coming months. The many facets of Web3 are already of great interest and importance to young Australians, and will only become more so over time.”
“We don’t have anything more to add right now, except to say we are hiring – stay tuned!” he added.
As indicated in the below comments section, Pedestrian Group recently trademarked the name ‘The Chainsaw’. A site with the domain name thechainsaw.com ‘The Home of Web3’ is currently live, and shows a company logo, with ‘coming soon’ in writing.
The job listings for the launch team are listed below.
Hey Job Stalker
We wrote this up as it seemed no one else had picked up on it yet!
We’ll make sure to check in with you next time before breaking a story 😉

Thanks for the response Calum – would be great if you did some more journalism than just write up a job ad, I’m sure there are ways and means of finding out what the publication is actually going to be about, or potentially called…like searching for what Pedestrian Group has trademarked recently…https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/view/2265783?q=Pedestrian+Group
and look here’s the site with a coming soon page: https://www.thechainsaw.com/
I look forward to this Mumbrella can reveal story while this comment remains unpublished.

Cheers Job Stalker.
Not sure exactly what your gripe is with us deducing from some job ads that a new publication is in the works. Yes, we might have missed some extra info, but the story is there. It happens!
Regardless, very much appreciate you sending it through, helpful interactions like this are a great vindication of the decision to return comments on Mumbrella.
Hope you’ve had a great weekend.
Calum
Mumbrella can reveal….that it saw the same job ads as everyone else did….
