Penfolds Grange owners tell their wine stories in National Geographic series
Iconic Australian wine brand Penfolds and National Geographic have launched ‘A Story in Every Bottle’, an online series to unearth stories behind rare wines from around the world.
Each episode features the owner of a vintage Penfolds wine who shares their story with chief winemaker Peter Gago. The series is available on Penfolds.com and other digital channels.
This series showcases a collection of personal memories and connections around the Treasury Wine Estates-owned brand ranging from births, marriages, friendship and life built around the wine brand’s international re-corking clinics.
A complimentary after-sales service running internationally since 1991, the re-corking clinics give the winemakers an opportunity to connect with collectors around the world with stories from Adelaide, Sydney, London, New York, Vancouver and Hong Kong.
“The notion that every bottle has a story continues to reign true.” says Penfolds’ chief winemaker, Peter Gago. “As winemakers, it is so meaningful and rewarding to meet collectors and share their personal story of their wine’s journey.”
Julia Scales, Fox Networks group director of advertising and partnerships said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Penfolds on this branded content opportunity and share authentic and premium stories showcasing the deep history and passion for winemaking from Australia and around the globe”.
Now if we only had a similar thing with Seppeltsfield’s Para Tawny Port, I’d be very into that! I’m very proud of my collection of some 40 odd bottles. [… all dated vintage bottles from 1878 to 1991] I think they are possibly the only winery that have released a vintage every year since 1878 to this day. Seppeltsfield [Seppelt] also have a free re-corking service available to collectors. No doubt about it, it’s a great port.
