PHD looks to Initiative for new head of planning and effectiveness

PHD Australia has named Elyse Foley as head of planning and effectiveness for the agency’s Sydney office.

Foley joins the agency with more than a decade of client leadership experience, most recently as group business director and head of employee experience at Initiative.

It marks her second stint at the Omnicom agency, having worked at PHD for more than five years before jumping across to PHD in late 2021.

Foley’s new role will see her responsible for nurturing PHD’s planning community, by linking strategic thinking and media planning using the agency’s proprietary channel planning platform OMNI.

She replaces Alex Williams, who PHD noted has exited for another opportunity.

PHD Sydney MD, Pia Coyle said the agency was “incredibly excited” to welcome Foley back.

“The appointment of Elyse marks a renewed focus on what makes us the market-leading planning agency. I’d also like to thank Alex for his contribution to the planning product and wider agency during his time with PHD.”

Foley was equally as excited for an opportunity to “lead the talented and passionate planning team to deliver great work and create a meaningful impact for clients”.

“Having worked at a number of great agencies, PHD has always stood out. With a brilliant leadership team, market leading product and tools, a robust, science backed approach to planning and genuine authentic people, PHD is an agency that’s one of a kind,” she said.

Foley will commence at PHD on Monday 12 February.
