PHD swipes McCain’s media account from cummins&partners

Frozen food company McCain has appointed PHD as its media agency of record following a creative pitch.

PHD has won the account from incumbent cummins&partners two years after the independent agency landed McCain’s media in an expanded remit atop of its creative duties. Cummins&partners will continue to handle creative and digital for the client.

PHD’s new remit will cover media strategy, media planning and buying across all channels.

The account will be run out of PHD Melbourne, with work having already commenced in Q4 after the pitch concluded in late 2023.

PHD Melbourne managing director, Simon Lawson, said: “The team and I are delighted to be appointed by McCain as their new media agency of record. It feels like a great match and we’re looking forward to helping to grow McCain brands for many years to come.”

McCain is best known for its frozen chips, frozen pizza and frozen vegetable ranges.

The brand launched a new above the line campaign for its Rustica pizza line in partnership with cummins&partners in September 2023.
