The 20/20 cricket match will be held at Sydney University Oval on Thursday 16 February.

Last year’s match was taken out by the agencies, with this year’s team be be headed by PHD’s Jarrett. The media owners team will be captained by JCDecaux’s Newton.

Mumbrella’s head of Bespoke Alex Hayes will umpire the match along with AdNews editor Rosie Baker, with official match scoring from The Performance Group.

The match is presented by JCDecaux and MCN, with Pandora sponsoring the after party.

Each competing organisation will also be donating funds to UnLtd and Breast Cancer Network Australia as part of their event participation.

Registrations for spectators are open, with the event organisers urging the industry to “dig deeply to donate” – donations can be made here.

In launching the event earlier this year UnLtd CEO Paul Fisher said the match was a chance for companies accustomed to competing head-to-head to put their rivalries aside, with The Big Clash having raised more than $50,000 in its first two years.

“The Big Clash is a stand-out example of channelling our industry’s renowned competitive spirit to raise funds that change the lives of many young Australians, and UnLtd is excited again to be involved in what is fast becoming a must-watch media industry event,” Fisher said.

The match was the brainchild of Chris Freel, commercial director at Pandora ANZ, and Newton, national sales director at JCDecaux, with Newton calling on the industry to pack the stands.

“We would love to get more people down to the event this year,” Newton said.

“It’s not just the middle-aged men on the field, we have some great mystery guests popping down to support on the day, so please come down for a drink to watch the match of the year – and bring your teams, friends and families, too.”

The decision to help the Breast Cancer Network is in support of Mindshare chief investment officer, Nicola Lewis, who was diagnosed with breast cancer mid-way through 2016.
