The move means the $5.9m media account will remain with the incumbent locally.

General Mills is just the latest global media pitch to wrap up as brands rush to make decisions ahead of a January 1 start date.

Among the global media pitches still in play in this market are: 21st Century Fox, Johnson & Johnson, Daimler Mercedes, Sony and Lacatis Parmalat.

Guinness World Records, the global authority on record breaking, is calling for proposals from Australia based agencies to manage its PR and marketing activity in the region.

The RFP is looking for agencies with an emphasis on brand and comes after the departure of longstanding representative Chris Sheedy, who left the business in August to pursue personal projects.

Nadine Causey, Guinness World Records senior vice-president, EMEA & APAC, said: “The Guinness World Records brand in Australia and New Zealand has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and Australia is currently the fourth highest country globally for record applications.

“Now, we’re looking for an agency that will further raise our profile in Australia and New Zealand and really help us take our brand to the next level.”

Agencies up for the challenge should email Justine.Tommey@guinnessworldrecords.com for the full RFP document.
