Pizza chain Crust enlists Peking Duk to create playable posters

Crust Pizza has recruited DJ duo Peking Duk in its latest iteration of the #Outofthebox campaign, creating interactive musical posters which allow people to mix their own track.

The campaign from 3rdspace utilises JC Decaux posters and encourages people to interact with the posters, selecting the samples and beats and also allows them to scratch a “mix-it-up with Peking Duk”.

As part of the promotion Crust will offer fans the chance to win tickets to see Peking Duk perform at a special ARIA Red Room with Nova by ordering a pizza from its website.

“In a JC Decaux first, the printed posters themselves are interactive,” said Alan Klein, head of creative solutions, JCDecaux. “It’s been exciting to see our posters come to life using technology that definitely takes them ‘out of the box’.”

Rob Logan, founder and ideas director of 3rdspace said: “We’re proud of how a content orientated strategy is going to resonate across all forms of media in innovative ways – we wanted to ensure every element was #outofthebox.”

Following on from the recent success of 3rdspace’s work with Crust Pizza, 3rdspace have evolved the #outofthebox platform with an innovative music partnership. We’ve enlisted dynamic DJ duo Peking Duk who create music in the same way Crust make their pizzas – out of the box.
