Powerade uses sports stars recovery in ‘Always Forward’ campaign

Powerade has launched a series of new ads featuring its brand ambassadors and sports stars Mitchell Starc, Billy Slater and Sam Kerr.

The ads show each athlete suffering an injury and their recovery during  training.

In the ads, rugby player Billy Slater and cricketer Mitchell Starc are seen breaking their shoulder and then drinking Powerade as they train to make a comeback.

Bridget Slipper, brand manager of operations, said in a statement: “Our focus with Always Forward is to affirm our brand’s leadership in the sports category globally.

“We kicked off phase one in partnership with one of the biggest global sporting events – the 2018 FIFA World Cup – and now we’re collaborating with our Australian ambassadors to showcase the benefits of Powerade for hydration, both during active sports and recovery.”

The ads featuring Slater and Starc launch today and will run across TV.

Meanwhile, next month an ad featuring woman’s soccer star Sam Kerr will screen with a 30 second television ad.
