Mumbrella Question Time to wrap up CommsCon on Thursday

Mumbrella will hold a Question Time to close this Thursday’s CommsCon conference.

The panellists will be  Commonwealth Bank CMO Andy Lark; Michelle Hutton, CEO of Edelman Australia; Stephen Browning,  head of corporate affairs at News Limited and Tiffany Farrington, director of publicists’ bible SocialDiary.

Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes will moderate the panel.

The panel will respond to questions from the audience, and tackle issues raised during the day, with an emphasis on responding to questions raised during the morning’s “blank piece of paper: PR and purpose” session, along with the PR Council’s Future of PR panel debate.

Lark is a former PR man – he was senior VP at Fleishman-Hillard. He is chairman of the CommsCon Awards.

Hutton has been boss of Edelman since 2010 and before that was CEO of Hill & Knowlton. She is a committee member of the PR Council.

Browning is head of corporate affairs at News Limited, where he has worked since 2006. Prior to that he held communciations roles at Austar, BSkyB television in the UK and the music industry.

Farrington has been in the PR industry for 15 years and founded Social Diary in 2005. Although she now mainly writes about public relations, she still looks after the PR of chef Curtis Stone.

The day will also include a live social media crisis simulation, a glimpse into the world of government relations and a session on storytelling and creating social ideas.

The event takes place  L’Aqua, Rooftop Level, Cockle Bay Wharf, Sydney this Thursday.

The conference will be followed by the inaugural CommsCon Awards. The shortlist was announced last week.
