Press Lions yield two Silvers and a Bronze for Australia as Harvey Nichols takes top spot
Three of Australia’s four Press Lions shortlisted campaigns picked up awards at Cannes Lions today, with Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett Sydney both grabbing Silvers.
Saatchis won for three ads called Blissful Dog/ Confused Dog/ Windblown Dog for Panasonic’s Nano Automotive Technology, while Leo Burnett was awarded for the Rhino/Shark/Tiger executions for WWF.
DDB Sydney was the other Australian winner with two executions from the Big Mac Legends series for McDonald’s, Darth Vader and Superman.
The Grand Prix was handed to the Harvey Nichols Christmas campaign which focussed around he idea of people spending all their money on themselves, and then giving meaningless presents to their loved ones.
Former Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney ECD Damon Stapleton who sat on the jury said of the winner: “It sends a message out to the industry in terms of getting back to ideas. The simplicity of this work makes it iconic. This campaign stands out because of its simplicity and its an idea.”
