August 1, 2011 –

Prevention magazine today launched the online Your Prevention Health Tracker; an Australian magazine first, accessible at www.preventionhealthtracker.com.au. Developed as a bespoke online health and wellbeing tracking tool to help Prevention readers achieve their healthy-lifestyle goals, the Health Tracker offers interactive health and fitness activity charts, allowing users to log nutritional and exercise events and track their health and fitness progress over time.

Uniquely designed and programmed, the system responds to reader input, dynamically calculating key measures such as Body Mass Index and Basal Metabolic Rate. Access to Your Prevention Health Tracker is free. The Prevention audience can use it to generate health and fitness benchmarks, as well as personalised health-focused data and advice.

Developed over a six-month period, Your Prevention Health Tracker has also been optimised for iPhone, allowing users to track and update their progress on the go, as well as sharing their progress with friends via social-media channels.

Prevention editor, Natalie Filatoff said: “Your Prevention Health Tracker continues Prevention’s commitment to making a healthy lifestyle easy and fun to achieve, and also underscores Pacific Magazines’ commitment to innovation.

“Your Prevention Health Tracker provides our readers with one-on-one, direct access and engagement with Prevention-a 360 degree brand which spans online, print and social-media platforms,” Filatoff added.

The Health Tracker launches with the ability to track readers’ eating and exercise habits, including nutritional information on 3,800 individual food and beverage products and over 800 forms of exercise!

Over the next 12 months the site will evolve with the ability to track more aspects of health and wellbeing, including emotional health, stress levels and more.
