Production company Kojo has appointed Linda Ujuk as its executive producer.

The announcement:

AUSTRALIAN STUDIO KOJO HAS ANNOUNCED THAT ITS PRODUCTION COMPANY, KOJO ENTERTAINMENT, HAS APPOINTED LINDA UJUK AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER TO LEAD THEIR AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTION OPERATIONS.

Linda has over 20 years of independent TV development and production experience, most recently as Scripted Supervising Producer for Seven Studios where she was part of their senior executive team. Linda played an integral role in establishing the Scripted Originals division, including acquiring IP, script development, packaging, financing, production, and developing the strategic direction, management and execution of a diverse slate of projects for both local and global platforms.

Her recent credits include romantic thriller Secret Bridesmaids Business, high-concept drama series Between Two Worlds, and as Executive Producer on original scripted narrative comedy, Fam Time. Linda also played a vital role in securing Amazon’s first Australian original drama commission with Back to the Rafters.

On the back of the recent announcement of its international Joint Venture with US-based Stampede Ventures, Linda joins KOJO as the company builds upon several successful producing partnerships including Top End Wedding with the team at Goalpost Pictures, 2067 with producer Lisa Shaunessy and First Day with producer Kirsty Stark.

“I’m beyond thrilled to join KOJO Entertainment and honoured to lead this exciting next phase of growth for the company’s scripted ambitions through its acquisition of and investment in IP, local producing partnerships and the international KOJO Stampede Alliance, which is a game-changing opportunity. Across all genres, we’ll be collaborating with Australia’s best storytellers to produce ambitious, bold and surprising stories with irresistible characters that will captivate audiences globally. We’ll also be actively developing the next generation of Australian voices and talent,” said Linda.

“We are excited to have Linda join the KOJO team. Over several months we conducted an extensive search for this role with a focus on finding someone who embraced our values and shared our vision for collaboration, partnerships and creating Australian stories for global markets,” said KOJO Group Managing Director, Dale Roberts.

“There is huge potential for the production sector given the enormous amount of content the world is consuming, however, it is vital that companies work together and play to each other’s strengths. This approach aligned with Linda’s vision to work with partners and creative talent in Australia and Internationally.”

In addition to the recently announced partnership with Los Angeles based Stampede Ventures, KOJO Entertainment is also developing several projects with Australian producing partners as well as projects that will be produced independently. They are also providing production services for several international productions.

Linda Ujuk started at KOJO on January 6th, 2020 and is based in KOJO’s Sydney office.
