Publicis Worldwide CEO and chairman of Publicis Communications, Andrew Baxter, resigns

The CEO of Publicis Worldwide and chairman of Publicis Communications across Australia and New Zealand has resigned to pursue “new career opportunities”.

In 2014, Baxter joined Publicis from his role as CEO of Ogilvy Australia to replace Joe Pollard as Publicis Worldwide CEO.

Baxter will remain with the company until the end of March

Just last year, Baxter was named as the chairman of Publicis Communications on top of his current role of CEO of Publicis Worldwide.

“I am grateful for the time I have spent leading Publicis Worldwide in Australia and the trust given to me by our clients and our talented team. Not only have we transformed our relationships with our key partners, but we have built a world-class agency with first-class resources and work. The results speak for themselves.

“After 25 years in the advertising business, I’ve decided to further my Board and Advisory career. I’ll work closely with Loris [Nold] and Michael [Rebelo] to ensure that our clients and teams continue to get the very best,” Baxter said in a statement.

Loris Nold, CEO of Publicis Groupe APAC, said Baxter has been a great partner in the transformation of Publicis Worldwide.

“Under Baxter, Publicis Worldwide in Australia has achieved some major milestones, growing significantly and having record years in 2016 and 2017.

“Andrew is looking to new career opportunities and he will be working with Michael to transition his responsibilities in the coming month.

“Australia is an incredibly important market for Publicis Groupe and I have full confidence in Michael’s leadership. I wish Andrew the very best in his future endeavours.”
