Publishers Australia introduces new awards category for magazines

Publishers Australia has introduced a new awards category for magazines.

The announcement:

Magazine peak body Publishers Australia has introduced a new awards category to identify magazines that engage and deliver across multiple channels.

Publishers must illustrate how they have extended their brand to reach and engage wider reader and advertiser audiences by demonstrating activity in a minimum of five channels. These could include: video, conferences, books, expos, directories, social media, as well as traditional print and digital mastheads. Judges will look for a coherent strategy, quality content and fluency between channels.

The Multi-Channel Brand of the Year trophy will be presented at the 17th annual Excellence Awards. Australia’s longest-running magazine awards showcase talent in journalism, design, marketing, editing and publishing across Consumer, Custom and B2B titles.

PA Chairman Geoff Hird said: “Publishers are flexible, responsive and innovative. We adapt to our readers’ tastes for content and channel. We seek out and engage new audiences not just with the written word in a multitude of channels, but also at conferences and through video.”

The Excellence Awards are now open for entry, and winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Sydney Hilton on 15th November.
