Punkee drops Gen Z-focused vodcast series, ‘little things’, exploring modern self care

Junkee Media has launched ‘little things’, a new long-form vodcast series from Punkee, focused on self care content for Gen Z audiences.

The announcement:

Award-winning independent youth publisher Junkee Media cements Punkee’s positioning in market as the Gen Z answer to ‘lifestyle’. Punkee launches its new long-form vodcast series, little things, on June 24 across YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts alongside Punkee’s highly engaged social-first ecosystem.

Punkee’s self care content vertical was born from its youth audience’s yearning for lifestyle content that felt more like a wholesome peek into someone’s everyday life and less like fuel for comparison, negative self-talk, and a fear of falling short. In 2025, Punkee has established itself as a leading Gen Z voice in the lifestyle media space in Australia while constantly evolving its offering in response to online trends and community demand on the social platforms where Gen Z spend most of their time.

Alongside Punkee’s in-house talent suite, Punkee has found success in 2025 by platforming its audience’s favourite creators (think: @zigs_mom, @martinamartian, @flexmami, @elena_tea) and sharing their list of little things… that are actually the big things. This concept is now being evolved into long-form conversations with creatives about the little things they surround themselves with that make them happy, habits they’ve formed and acts of radical self care that they practice without even thinking about it. little things officially launches on June 24 in partnership with Angostura Bitters as a fortnightly vodcast series across YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts alongside Punkee’s social-first ecosystem. Plus, little things will take over punkee.com.au in a custom zine that references our audience’s nostalgic scrapbooking obsession and offers unique brand integration that can’t be found anywhere else in market.

“As someone who’s always struggled with the ‘5-9 before your 9-5’ brand of lifestyle content, I knew Punkee’s evolved approach to self care had to be different. For us, self care isn’t about comparing yourself to other people, it’s about making more time for things that make you feel happy and fulfilled: the little things that make up a life. This series sees me ask my fave creatives about their little things; the accessible, affordable, sometimes unorthodox acts of self care they do to set themselves up for a day that feels happy vs a day that feels productive. I can’t wait to take you with me as I uncover my guests’ curious storytimes and non-intimidating self care recs. Expect all the feelings.”

“Junkee Media’s continued growth and expansion across new mediums in response to community demand sees us apply our innovative and deeply integrated approach to brand partnerships to exciting new contexts. Our launch partnership for little things, timed to coincide with Dry July, sees us elevating our drinks with a little bit of Angostura Bitters and expertly extending our series with editorially-led exploration of mindful drinking habits whilst driving brand association with the hyper-popular trends that resonate with our youth audience.”
