Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 12.54.29 PMQantas airlines has partnered with music streaming channel Spotify to allow frequent flyers to use their loyalty points to pay for Spotify’s premium subscriptions.

Frequent flyers will be able to access a premium Spotify subscription for three, six or 12 months by redeeming their points in the Qantas store.

Michael Richardson, Spotify’s head of business development AU/NZ, said: “This loyalty program inclusion marks a world-first for Spotify, as well as an exciting opportunity. The sheer breadth of our music catalogue and service should appeal not only to that younger audience, but to Qantas’ over 9 million member base.”
As well as providing access to Spotify’s entire catalogue of music online, the premium service provides offline access to playlists on mobile.
