Queensland government reviews media
The Queensland government has called a media review.
The news may come as a blow to media agency staff wanting a restful festive period, since the deadline for submissions is Monday 21 January.
MediaCom Brisbane is the incumbent agency. It retained the master media buying contract in 2008, and won it in 2004.
The account was worth around $66m in 2011, although the government – led by premier Campbell Newman – has been cutting ad spend this year.
Interested agencies should contact Nikolai Nehring at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
The only “media” they need to review is that stupid Qld Govt logo which has become a laughing stock around the country. Really, what is that circle with the wiggly lines supposed to represent? Time for the LNP to throw out this embarrassing hangover from the Beattie years and replace it with an outline of Qld itself.

I think you’ll find they have – they reverted to an updated version of the original state shield a number of months ago..

Not that the article was anything to do with branding or visual identity, but actually media buying.
