R/GA appoints Kieran Antill as executive creative director

R/GA Australia has hired Kieran Antill as executive creative director across Sydney and Melbourne.

Antill takes over from Craig Brooks, who left the agency in February alongside executive strategy director Joel Pearson to open creative shop, Not Bad Pretty Good.

Antill joins R/GA as ECD

Michael Titshall, VP & managing director of R/GA Australia, said of Antill’s appointment: “Over his career, Kieran has demonstrated an amazing ability to apply a breadth of creative thinking to communications, products and services and consultancy.

“His appointment is reflective of our ambition to help clients extract greater results by applying creativity more holistically to their business.”

Antill was most recently the creative director at Tennis Australia. He has previously been executive creative director of JWT and managing partner, ECD and EVP of Leo Burnett in New York.

Antill left JWT in October 2018, stating a desire to “focus on his family and outside interests.”

He is the co-founder of fitness-tech company, Timebirds, and customer and employee experience business, NeLo. Antill will remain involved with the businesses as a board advisor.

Seamus Higgins, VP chief creative officer of R/GA Asia Pacific, said Antill’s background made him a perfect fit for the agency’s direction.

“Kieran combines a rare mix of skills, with a real passion for collaboration and driving work that challenges conventions. We’re incredibly excited to have him join us in our mission to expand the edge of possibility for our people, our clients, and our industry.”

Antill said of his appointment: “It’s a given that R/GA is one of the most innovative companies in the world, but what made me join was their values. They are optimistic about the future, passionate about having a positive impact and focused on family and what that means for the next generation – all that really resonated with me. I’m excited to get started.”

Earlier this month, R/GA hired Interbrand’s ECD, Ben Miles, as executive creative director for Business Transformation in Asia Pacific.
