The announcement:

R/GA Australia has welcomed Heather Sheen into its fold as its head of planning. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry – both within creative and planning – Sheen brings a unique perspective to unlocking business growth for clients through creativity. Sheen will lead R/GA Australia’s strategy team from the Sydney office.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Heather into R/GA. Heather has a real curiosity about people; she really gets in and understands what’s driving attitudes and behaviours. She’s also great at nurturing ideas and collaborating broadly, which is what R/GA is all about,” said Victoria Curro, managing director, R/GA Sydney.

“R/GA’s vision of creating a more human future really excites me,” said Sheen. “I’m particularly interested in understanding human behaviour and uncovering insights that will unlock meaningful solutions.”

“I hope to build on the good work of R/GA Australia’s team, including building emotional brand stories throughout every touchpoint, beyond the formats we’re used to,” she added. “It’s a real opportunity to work with clients who have a real appetite for solving business problems through differently-shaped ideas.”

“Our team at R/GA Australia has made big strides in pushing the boundaries of creativity when it comes to producing physical and digital experiences. With Heather on board, I’m really looking forward to what else we can create together,” says Curro.

Prior to joining R/GA, she was a planning partner at DDB Sydney, where she led the strategic thinking on the Westpac, Domain and Red Cross accounts. On top of Sheen’s day-to-day work, she nurtures the next generation of advertising talent by lecturing at AdSchool, AWARD School, and leading Miami Ad School’s local strategic programs. Sheen’s work has been awarded by The Australian Effies, APAC Effies, IPA, D&AD, Cannes, AWARD, One Show, and ADMA.

Sheen is also looking forward to being part of a truly global network. “R/GA’s unique operating model provides the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing minds locally, and in markets around the world,” she said.
