Racing Queensland passes media account to Cogency

Cogency has won Racing Queensland’s media account.

The announcement:

Co.gency, a leading independent media agency, is proud to announce it has been appointed to manage the media account for Racing Queensland following a highly competitive tender process.

The win sees Co.gency take over the reins from the incumbent agency, and will be responsible for Racing Queensland’s media strategy, planning, and buying. The tender included strong competition from several notable agencies at a local and national level.

Co.gency’s appointment is effective immediately, and the agency will work closely with Racing Queensland to drive engagement and growth across the state’s thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racing codes.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Racing Queensland, an organisation that plays a vital role in the state’s sporting and economic landscape,” said James Currah, managing partner at Co.gency. “Our team is passionate about delivering innovative and effective media
solutions, and we are confident that our strategic data led approach will help Racing Queensland achieve its ambitious goals.”

Mitch Jones, GM marketing & events at Racing Queensland, also expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership. “Co.gency demonstrated a deep understanding of our business and a clear vision for how to connect with our audiences,” they said. “We were impressed by their strategic thinking and collaborative approach, and we look forward to a successful partnership.

The win highlights the growing momentum of independent agencies in the market. “The fact that an independent agency like Co.gency could win such a significant account against well-established network agencies speaks volumes about the talent and agility of the independent sector,” said Sam Buchanan, CEO of the Independent Media Agencies of Australia. “It’s a testament to independent agencies’ strategic thinking and ability to deliver exceptional value.”
