Radio Ratings: Perth – Mix 94.5 holds onto number one FM station title

Perth’s Mix 94.5  retained its number one station title with an audience share of 14.1 per cent, according to the latest Nielsen radio ratings numbers.

The Southern Cross Austereo owned station continues to pull ahead of its closest rival DMG station Nova 93.7 which held an audience share of 12.3 per cent.

96FM’s Monday to Sunday audience continues to fall, with the station’s audience share dropping by 1 point to 10.5 per cent.

Despite changes to Mix94.5’s breakfast team in October, the station continued to hold onto the number one FM breakfast show title with an audience share of 13.7 per cent. Mix94.5’s breakfast show ‘The Bunch’ hosted its last show on October 25, with the station’s drive team Clairsy, Shane and Kymba moving to the breakfast slot on October 28.

Nova93.7’s breakfast team managed to stay as Perth’s second favourite FM breakfast programme with an audience share of 12 per cent, while 92.9’s breakfast team lags behind with an audience share of 8.6 per cent. The station’s breakfast team of Lisa, Paul and Baz were replaced by Heidi of Big Brother fame, Will and Woody on November 11.

96FM’s breakfast show Blackers, Carmen & Fitzy continues to lose its audience, decreasing from a 10 per cent share to an 8.7 per cent audience share.

ABC720′s breakfast with Eoin Cameron continues to dominate the breakfast time slot with an audience share of 15.2 per cent while ABC’s youth channel Triple J managed to boost its overall Monday to Sunday audience share by 1.4 share points, climbing from an audience share of 9 per cent to 10.4 per cent.

In the drive time slot, Nova’s national Meshel, Tim and Marty show continue to lead, increasing its audience share from 14.6 per cent to 15 per cent. Nova has announced Laurie will leave the national drive program to co-host a breakfast program in Melbourne, former Home and Away star Kate Richie will replace her in the drive team.

Southern Cross Austero’s Mix94.5 drive show with Lisa and Tim continued to boost its audience share moving from a share of 13.2 per cent to a share of 13.9 per cent.
