Rafael Nadal and Alex de Minaur’s match helps Australian Open secure 791,000 viewers
Nine’s Friday night airing of the Australian Open managed to draw in 791,000 metro viewers with help from Rafael Nadal and Alex de Minaur as they went head to head at the Rod Laver Arena.
According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, 830,000 metro viewers tuned in to watch Rafael Nadal and Alex de Minaur’s match alone.
Night five of the Australian Open was the second most watched program of the evening as 1.092m viewers watched across the nation.

Across the nation the Australian Open saw 1.092m viewers tune in.
The most watched program of the evening was Seven News, which attracted 867,000 metro viewers and 1.284m nationally.
Meanwhile, Nine News managed 727,000 metro viewers and 960,000 nationally.
Seven’s game show The Chase Australia was the second most watched non-news program of the evening as 506,000 metro viewers tuned in.
Ten’s best performing program for Friday TV was Ten News First, which managed 380,000 metro viewers and 541,000 across the nation.
With help from the tennis, Nine won the Friday TV ratings with an overall audience share of 28.5%. Nine beat its rival free-to-air channels as Seven managed a 16.8% share, ABC an 11.7% share, Ten a 7.8% audience share and SBS a 6.1% share.
Across the multi-channels, Ten Bold was the most watched program with a 3.7% share beating 7TWO’s 3% share.
