Rafters death provides ratings boost for Today Tonight
The Rafters effect stretched into Thursday night with actress Zoe Ventoura talking about the death of her character Mel Rafter delivering Seven’s Today Tonight the highest rating show of the day.
Today Tonight rated 1.656m according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.
It was a second strong night in a row for Seven, with the network scoring six of the top ten shows. Ten’s best performer was Glee with 1.337m, fifth for the night.
And Nine found itself dragged down by the cricket, with the one day international with Sri Lanka averaging just 683,000.

Despite Packed to the Rafters being a quality show it is a sad day when audiences find an actress talking about the death of a ‘fictional’ character the most interesting thing on TV.
