‘Rare beast’ Steve Callen joins CumminsRoss as creative and content director

Former Clemenger Harvie creative director Steve Callen is the latest addition to eight-month old agency CumminsRoss.

The advertising creative and filmmaker takes on a new role – as creative director and director of content.

Callen was most recently creative director at Adelaide agency Jamshop, and has previously worked at Clemenger BBDO Adelaide, also as creative director.

He has also spent part of his career writing screenplays and directing short films.

Jason Ross, partner at CumminsRoss, said: “We searched the world for the right blend of capabilities, and we found Steve in South Australia! We have known Steve’s amazing qualities as an advertising writer, but he is a bit of a renaissance man with interest in film, tourism and other business.”

“Our strategy with creative talent is to hire bright young stars and very senior, credentialed professionals. In Steve we have a talent of depth, experience and diversity. He is a rare beast”.

Callen is one of nine additions made to the CumminsRoss team in recent weeks.

His work includes commercials for the government of South Australia (Out it Flu), Kodak and Vital Partners.

Out it Flu from Escape Plan on Vimeo.

Kodak from Escape Plan on Vimeo.

Vital Partners “WYSIWYG” from Escape Plan on Vimeo.
