RCJ hopes to park SsangYong Australia in customers’ minds with media account win

Independent agency Russell Curtis & Janes Media Advertising (RCJ) has been appointed to manage all above-the-line media for Korean automotive brand SsangYong Australia, following a competitive pitch process.

RCJ, which has offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, will be responsible for solidifying the brand’s presence in the Australian market.

RCJ executive director Carlos Correa said the agency is thrilled to be working on the Ssangyong brand in its next phase of growth and feels that the collaborative pitch process established a strong partnership to work from.

“We’ve really hit it off well and there’s a great sense of confidence and excitement about the direction our strategy brainstorming and planning is taking – we feel there’s a winning formula
taking shape,” he said.

“SsangYong, which is known as an SUV and ute specialist, re-entered the Australian automotive market in 2018 with its Musso model, and has become an in-demand car brand.

“SsangYong is also acknowledged as having one of the country’s strongest manufacturer warranties – seven years, unlimited kilometres as well as a seven-year roadside assist plan – compared with the traditional three-year cover offered by other brands.

“There are exciting times ahead for the company as its product volume in the market grows and RCJ is looking forward to helping build the SsangYong brand in the competitive Aussie auto market.”

RCJ brings a skilled team to the SsangYong campaign as well as valuable experience with vehicle manufacturers and distributers through its work over the past five years with Polaris.
