Rebecca Bezzina resigns as VP MD of R/GA Australia

R/GA Australia’s VP managing director Rebecca Bezzina has resigned from the agency.

“I’m so proud to have led R/GA in Australia, grateful for the trust placed in me by our clients and team, and for the journey we’ve been on together these past 5 years. I’m looking forward to working closely with Tuomas in the coming months, before I begin to explore opportunities beyond the industry,” Bezzina said in a statement.

Bezzina is set to depart the agency in March

Bezzina first joined R/GA as a client services director in 2013 and was promoted to managing director of client services nearly two years later.

The MD took a break from the agency in 2016 to become the managing director of Cummins&Partners Sydney.

Bezzina returned to R/GA as VP MD nine months later.

Set to depart the agency in March, Bezzina will work with R/GA’s EVP managing director APAC Tuomas Peltoniemi while the business recruits a new managing director.

“Becs is a formidable force of nature who’s been instrumental in building the business in Australia, and infusing it with heart and soul

“We’re all sorry to see her go, but excited to see what she does next,” Peltoniemi said in a statement.

Global CEO, R/GA, Sean Lyons, added: “At 6 years old, R/GA is still a young agency in Australia, but under Becs’ leadership we’ve come of age.

“She leaves having set us up for continued success, but we’re saddened that she won’t be with us for the next phase. Her energy, fearlessness, humour and heart will be very much missed by all those who work with her.”
