Ten renews Recipe to Riches
Channel Ten has renewed reality series Recipe to Riches for a second season, but it is not yet clear whether Droga5’s creative partner David ‘Nobby’ Nobay will return for season two.
Producers Fremantle Media are now calling for contestants for the second run of the show which sees participants, with the help of a team of judges, turn their home recipes into products to sell through Woolworths supermarkets.
Ten is currently finalising the new season’s panel, with Nobay’s return uncertain following Woolworths decision to add Leo Burnett to its creative roster ahead of Droga5’s position as lead creative expiring on May 1.
Last year’s judging panel included Carman’s Fine Foods owner Carolyn Creswell and chef Darren Robertson, of restaurant Three Blue Ducks. However, it is unclear which Woolorths marketer will appear this series after an overhaul in the marketing team.
The final episode of the branded entertainment show had an average of 504,000 metro viewers after launching to 616,000 viewers. It sunk as low as to 481,000 during its 12 week run, according OzTam.
I sense a mixing of metaphors here. “Rags to Riches” and “A Recipe for ********
This is not necessarily a case of “Flogging a dead horse” but it may be an exercise in
“Whistling in the dark.” After all, “The proof of the pudding is in the eating.”
“A stitch in time will save nine” Will “Running again save ten?”
Sorry :o)

A prime-time show that only rated half a million (that’s way lower than the Lara Bingle show, from memory) gets a second go on Ten?
It’s pretty obvious Woolies is pumping a lot of money into this production. Anyone seen a copy of the contract?
