Record share for Ten, led by Masterchef and Lie To Me
Network Ten returned its second biggest rating result yesterday, leading the free-to-air channels in overall share as Masterchef nudged a record two million viewers.
The cooking show was the most-watched in all the main metro markets and among viewers aged 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54, according to preliminary overnight OzTam data.
Ten’s US show, Lie To Me also drew its highest audience for the season so far with over one million average viewers.
Ten’s main channel led overall with a 26.1 per cent share, followed by Seven with 23.9 per cent and Nine with 23.9 per cent.
The last time Ten led in the ratings this year was on April 19 when it attracted a 34.5 per cent share in consolidated viewing – which includes overnight and time shifted viewing – in an analysis of the three commercial FTA channels.
Nine came second with 33.9 per cent, and Seven third with 31.9 per cent.
