‘Reinvented’ McCann lands first post-merger win: retailer Suzanne Grae
McCann Sydney has landed its first new business win since its merger with Smart in September.
After a pitch involving M&C Saatchi and The Works, Women’s retailer Suzanne Grae selected McCann to run its brand development, creative concepting and instore activity for its 220 stores in Australia and New Zealand.
Ashley Farr, the new boss of McCann Sydney, and national planning director, said:
“We are delighted to bring our extensive retail experience into this partnership with Suzanne Grae.
“Suzanne Grae is a very passionate and creative organisation, and this is a great opportunity for us to do great work that can really make a difference. The win is a gratifying endorsement of the reinvention of McCann, which has only just begun, as a non-traditional agency with digital at its core. We can now offer clients a new Australian agency with the DNA of a creative independent, backed by the global resources of the world’s largest agency network.”
seems to be a rather mature brand given the new yoof focus at McCann

How is in-store retail for a boring old brand a reflection of ‘a non-traditional agency with digital at its core’?

Urrgh. The seemingly endless out pour of agency drivel from McCann is nauseating
“non traditional digital, core DNA of a creative independent blah blah”
You were an good independent agency. A crap old agency that lost it’s way acquired you. You are now said crap old agency with a few new staff and ideas. It’s happened a million times before and will happen many times more
