Richard McLaren to head NineMSN’s technology strategy
NineMSN has appointed Richard McLaren into the new role of chief technology officer.
McLaren was previously director of Open Mobile Payments, a company designed to help consumers pay for goods with their mobile devices. He was also IT director at British website moneysupermarket.com and a former head of business financial services strategy at Westpac.
He will be responsible for the developing NineMSN’s multi-platform media strategy.
CEO Joe Pollard said: “I am extremely excited to welcome Richard aboard. His depth of experience, strategic skills and passion for IT and technology make him the ideal leader to guide NineMSN’s digital media expansion.”
McLaren said: “NineMSN is an exciting business that is uniquely placed to take advantage of great expansion in the multi-platform digital media arena. I feel very privileged to become part of the team and to work with such a capable and talented group of people.”
He joins the company late next month.
McLaren will join NineMSN on November 24th.

I find it amusing that statements from new NineMSN employees always begin with something akin to “ninemsn is an exciting business that is uniquely placed to take advantage of (insert mandate here).
