Western Sydney TAFE launches second Rob Shehadie series

TAFE Western Sydney has launched a second online content series starring comedian Rob Shehadie after a successful campaign earlier this year.

The four-part mockumentary sees Shehadie playing a politician on the campaign trail working to change perceptions about TAFE.

Rob’s Campaign follows Shehadie’s journey as he tours western Sydney to speak with high school students and promote the VET provider as a viable option for school leavers and people learning new skills.

TAFE Western Sydney’s strategic marketing and communications director, Craig McCallum, said the campaign is about disproving the misconceptions surrounding TAFE’s education quality.

“TAFE isn’t just for tradies, it’s not for people who aren’t intelligent, and it isn’t the consolation prize for not going to uni,” said McCallum.

“A highly educated and productive society needs both university and vocational training, and Rob’s Campaign is our bold statement about why TAFE stacks up strongly as an alternative option for school leavers and upskillers to achieve their further education goals.”

The series also features a number of Australian celebrities, including Channel Nine newsreader Peter Overton, 2GB Money News host Ross Greenwood, Big Brother winner Tim Dormer, and sports presenter Cameron Williams, in cameo roles.

Produced by TAFE Western Sydney, VCCP, Benedictus Media, and Sefiani, the web series follows the previous instalment of Shehadie’s TAFE experience, Educating Rob, which received 400,000 organic views.

New episodes and content will be rolled out weekly across a number of digital platforms including Youtube, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook.
