Rock Posters hires David Cross as national sales director

Rock Posters has bolstered its senior team with the hire former SCA executive David Cross as national sales director.

The independent outdoor agency has grown since it was founded in 1986 to become the largest national street poster network in Australia, and continues its growth with the hire of Cross.

Cross joins in the newly created position of national sales director, following the appointment of Marcus Seal as the first general manager of Rock Posters.

He comes from his last job as direct sales manager – Victoria for Val Morgan, and also spent time as group sales manager for Southern Cross Austereo and as general sales and business development manager for Ourdeal.

Seal said Cross will help shape the way the street poster world functions in Australia.

“David is a force of nature and has an inexhaustible source of energy. His vision and, enthusiasm are infectious and he shares our excitement for the potential of the medium.

“I know David will help us continue to shape the way the outdoor/street poster world works in Australia, and broaden our reach.”

Cross also spent 11 years with the Nine Network as senior direct sales executive, having begun his career working on media planning and buying for Mediacom, DDB Needham and London’s Initiative Media.

Cross said he looks forward to providing creative solutions for clients as they get back to normal business in 2021.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Rock Posters family at a time when the company is poised for opportunity and growth,” he said.

“I will look forward to helping the team deliver cost effective, creative solutions for existing and potential clients alike as they also attempt to navigate their way back to normality.”

Seal said the hire of Cross would allow for a more cohesive sales approach for Rock Posters.

“Our existing account management team are spread far and wide following the dramatic changes forced on the industry due to the pandemic. With David’s appointment, we can now prioritise a more cohesive sales approach to the marketplace.”
