RocKwiz returns to Australian screens on Foxtel

Foxtel has brought back music trivia show RocKwiz, premiering on February 24, after a six-year hiatus.

The announcement:

Australia’s original music trivia show RocKwiz – starring multi-talented host Julia Zemiro, supreme music aficionado and comedian Brian Nankervis, human scoreboard and roadie Dugald, and a new look RocKwiz Orkestra – will premiere February 24 on FOXTEL.

Following a six-year hiatus from Australian television, RocKwiz will once again bring a unique blend of trivia, comedy and live music to Australian screens with a stellar line-up of new and established musical guests including: Jimmy Barnes, Vance Joy, Tina Arena, Ben Lee, Dan Sultan, Sam Cromack, Allen Stone, Meg Washington, Chris Cheney, Ella Hooper, Meg Mac, WILSN, Isabella Manfredi, Gretta Ray, Fanny Lumsden and Thndo.

Co-creator and series producer Ken Connor said: “We are thrilled to be back on the television, entertaining RocKwiz fans new and old. As always, our talented, musical guests will be a mixture of headline acts and emerging artists.”

Co-creator and series producer Peter Bain-Hogg said: “It’s such a joy to bring RocKwiz back so we can give the artists we love a chance to perform their songs, and a duet they have chosen, live in front of a studio audience.”

RocKwiz is an eight x 30-minute series produced exclusively for the Foxtel Group by Renegade Films. Co-created by Renegade’s Ken Connor and Peter Bain-Hogg along with comedian Brian Nankervis. The RocKwiz Orkestra features Peter Luscombe (Musical Director and drums), Clio Renner (keyboard and backing vocals), Bill McDonald (bass guitar), and Olympia (lead guitar and backing vocals).

RocKwiz will premiere on FOX8 and will add locally commissioned content to the diverse slate of licensed entertainment, animated and comedy content including Superman & Lois, Pennyworth, Harley Quinn, Last Week Tonight, Young Rock, Taskmaster and Saturday Night Live.
