Winemaker offers his take on Adelaide in SATC short film
The South Australian Tourism Commission has released a short film in which Adelaide winemaker Justin Lane reflects on what the city of Adelaide means to him.
His commentary is set against images of his winemaking process.
The video, created by production house Marbay, is the second of a two-part series released to support the announcement of Adelaide as a ‘top 10 city’ to visit by Lonely Planet. Adelaide born She Can DJ winner, Minx told her story of Adelaide in the piece released at the end of last month.
This city is heading down a new path? Really?
While i like the film, I can only imagine our new path has something to do with looking outside the state, to promote what we have inside. There is no future in growing South Australia and rebuilding it’s fragile economy when we cannot find a way to support our own talented industries.
It all seems a bit hopeless when our Brand South Australia website promotes the following as its elevator pitch: “Brand South Australia is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation that uniquely connects with the South Australian government, media and businesses, to promote confidence and pride in South Australia’s creativity, innovation and industriousness”
When we see the Brand South Australia logo, it should mean South Australia created, owned and operated. Imagine if we practised what we preached…

As a big fan of low-budget horror movies… this looks awesome!
‘Sideways’ meets ‘Saw.’

Last comment… I just looked up Marbay (prod co) and as one last slap in the face to SA, it’s a SYDNEY based production company!
How about employing South Aussies who can’t get work because this state doesn’t support it’s media industry?
SATC, you should be ashamed – our own talent isn’t good enough to promote our own state? And this is what you come up with? Pfft.
Festival State, my butt. Sure if you’re rich, but not if you’re an artist or creative, or media. We just watch the funds from our state go elsewhere to be wasted. As evidenced by the videos above.
