SABIO elevates Lauren Faulkner to general manager

Integrated marketing agency Sabio has promoted proud Waanyi woman Lauren Faulkner to general manager.

In her new role, Faulkner will oversee a team of 35 across the agency’s Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney offices.

Faulkner first joined P4 Group as an account manager seven years ago, prior to its rebrand as Sabio with sister agency Ruby Communications in October 2021. She has since held roles for the agency as senior account manager, account director and communications group account director, before her most recent promotion to operations director in 2019.

In her role as operations director, Faulkner delivered strategic account leadership and streamlined agency processes and procedures to enhance client and team retention. Following the Sabio rebrand, Faulkner has also become the agency’s representative within the Public Relations Organisation International (PROI) Worldwide Group, and has attended international forums on the agency’s behalf.

Prior to her time at P4 Group and Sabio, Faulkner was an account executive at The Red Republic and spent time working with e-commerce brands in New Zealand.

Managing director Naomi Spies said the promotion was a well-deserved recognition for the contribution Faulkner brings to the agency each day.

“Lauren really is one of the driving forces behind the success of Sabio and has been a constant leader inspiring our team, pushing our client work forward and contributing to the commercial success of the agency,” said Spies.

“Lauren leads with heart in everything she does and is a fierce advocate for our people, both our team and clients. Her progressive, forward-thinking and innovative ideas will continue to drive Sabio forward as the agency of choice for both employees and clients.

“Our agency has undergone an exciting evolution in recent years culminating in our rebrand to Sabio in October last year following a merge between P4 Group and Ruby Communications in 2020, but we know the best is yet to come. It’s an exciting time to be in the industry, particularly with such a huge focus on collaboration and creativity ― things Sabio knows all too well.”

Falkner is excited to be leading the agency into the next chapter and is equally proud to be representing the Indigenous community as an executive at the top level.

“I’m proud to be playing a role in shaping the future of Sabio as we enter a new era driven by innovation, clever ideas, and an exceptionally talented team,” said Faulkner.

“As a proud Waanyi woman (from Mount Isa), my cultural identity has played an important role in my upbringing and has influenced my empathetic, fair, and considered leadership style.”
