Santos pits gas as ‘a fuel for the future’
Adelaide agency KWP Advertising has created a corporate ad campaign for energy company Santos in which coal seam gas is pitted as “a fuel for the future”.
The spot features a landowner testimonial to highlight Santos’s 50-year track record of looking after landowners and the land.

“We’re not just an energy company, we’re a company with energy” is the campaign strapline.
The campaign is scheduled to run until the end of the year, across TV, print, press and radio.
This is disgusting and misleading propaganda by giant corporation Santos. Where are all the well heads, machinery, blasted earth, new roads crisscrossing farmland for huge transport trucks, etc etc in this glossy image? Farmers, land owners, communities throughout rural and metropolitan Australia are outraged at the rape and pillage of our natural resources, the destruction of food producing lands, natural habitat, contamination of water sources, air pollution and all the associated and known risks and dangers of coal seam gas extraction. CSG is NOT a green or clean alternative energy source, rather it has as great as/or greater than carbon footprint as regular coal power. All focus should be on developing and implementing renewable energey now. Coal Seam Gas is yet another finite FOSSIL FUEL, and we are just digging another great big dirty hole for ourselves by pursuing a short term dirty ‘fix’ with CSG.

There is a reason that Santos has had to run this advertising campaign in the first place. Hmmmm…… what could it be? Maybe the fact that so many landowners are up in arms about their treatment at the hands of CSG companies perhaps?

CSG is a joke, and we are the ones who will reap the punchline when our groundwater’s no good for irrigation…

Good to see, so far, just the right reaction from Mumbrella users on this VERY important issue. You don’t have to dig too deep to understand that CSG is a growing disaster, both nationally and internationally. I’ll give KWP the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn’t do their homework before they accepted the gig.

Apart from all of the above, Santos has a very poor track record when involved with drilling. The Indonesian toxic mud disaster illlustrates well their complete lack of care.
We should stop Santos and similar companies before the environmental disasters in Australia become worse.

This is another example of a major corporation taking Australian people for mugs.
Everything about this bloke and his property is unreal and fraccking has not been around for 50 years. If his property was being fraccked, he wouldn’t be too ffraccking supportive.
