SBS appoints Peter Andrews head of network programming

Multicultural broadcaster SBS has appointed former Ten network program manager Peter Andrews to the role of head of network programming.

AndrewsAndrews has 18 years’ experience in television programming and has previously worked at Ten and before that Seven.

Up until April Andrews was with the Ten Nework where led the development and programming of TEN’s second digital free-to-air channel, Eleven, and also re-engineered ONE as a male appeal digital channel.

“Peter brings extensive skills and expertise in programing to SBS and has built excellent relationships with the major studios at both a domestic and international level. He has a great passion for storytelling and is a perfect fit for SBS as we continue to build our reputation for content that provokes, inspires, surprises and delights our audiences across the platforms they are choosing to use,” said Tony Iffland SBS director of television & online content.

Before joining Ten, Andrews worked for the Seven Network from 1995 to 2002, as Sydney Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager.

Andrews replaces Jane Roscoe, who has relocated to the United Kingdom to take up the position of SBS Head of International Content. He will be responsible for driving the programming strategies for SBS ONE and SBS 2.
