SBS Arabic24 launches revamped radio service with new program line-up

Arabic language station SBS Arabic24 has launched a refreshed program line-up to give Australia’s Arabic-speaking community more news, entertainment and music.

The announcement:

SBS Arabic24 today announced a fresh program line-up starting Monday 22 July 2019, offering more news, entertainment and music for Australia’s growing Arabic-speaking communities.

The refreshed radio schedule introduces a new breakfast show duo, Stephanie Andary and Fares Hassan, while host Nabil Nashar will present a new morning show ‘Bayt Al Mazzika’ focused on music and entertainment. The drive time show will be co-hosted from Sydney and Melbourne with Melbourne presenters Iman Riman and Hana Yassin joining Ghassan Nakhoul, based in Sydney, Delivering more Australian news in Arabic, seasoned journalists Hachem El-Haddad and Saleem Al-Fahad will provide hourly news across the day from 6am to 6pm.

Since its launch in 2016, SBS Arabic24 has gone from strength to strength to become Australia’s leading Arabic language radio station, with 24 per cent share of the weekly Arabic-speaking radio market in the largest metro cities*, and significant growth in online audiences.

Following conversations with our Arabic-speaking audiences, we’ve updated the radio service, to include more entertainment and to introduce for the first time, an hourly news bulletin across weekdays, which will be focused on delivering Australian news in Arabic.

“The morning program with Nabil Nashar will involve audiences, giving them the opportunity to request their favourite songs. Additionally, the SBS Arabic24 team will continue to deliver stories daily to audiences who are increasingly consuming our stories via the SBS Radio app and online platforms.”

Good Morning Australia – Weekdays, 6am-9am

Breakfast show hosts Fares Hassan and Stephanie Andary bring communities all the news to start the day. The live three-hour show is a meeting place of perspectives, ideas and voices, with a uniquely Arabic-Australian lens on the issues that matter.

Bayt Al Mazzika – Weekdays, 9am-12pm

Nabil Nashar showcases the latest Arabic hits and golden tunes, including listener requests.

Australia Alyaom – Weekdays, 3pm-6pm

Tune in for Australian focused stories with seasoned journalists Ghassan Nakhoul, Iman Riman and Hana Yassin, as they unpack and analyse the news of the day.
