SCA appoints Maryanne O’Sullivan head of agency sales, Sydney

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has promoted Maryanne O’Sullivan to head agency sales, Sydney.

O’Sullivan has spent almost five years with the company, as a group sales manager in its agency team, and has over 13 years of media sales leadership experience.

Her new role will see O’Sullivan leading the audio agenda with SCA’s agency partners, oversee SCA’s digital audio growth strategy, and supporting the agency team to provide insight-led solutions for advertisers.

SCA head of agency sales, Amanda Unwin, whose remit previously included the role set to be taken up by O’Sullivan, said: “Maryanne is well respected and regarded in the Sydney agency market and has a proven track record of delivering results for our advertiser and agency partners.

“She is an exceptional leader, and I am excited about what she will bring to this role in a time of rapid and exciting change at SCA, for audio and in our industry.”

O’Sullivan’s previous experience includes roles across free-to-air television, subscription television, radio, podcasting, and digital media, including stints at Sky Media in London and A+E Television Networks in New York.

O’Sullivan said: “I have been fortunate enough to have experienced outstanding leadership and mentoring at SCA, so I feel privileged to have now been given the opportunity to lead the Sydney Agency team. I am passionate about our business, our people and driving stronger partnerships with our agencies and clients alike.

“With the rapid digitisation of audio and growth in our product suite, I look forward to leading the fantastic team around me into a bright future ahead. Together we will continue to deliver thought leadership and insightful solutions to the Sydney market.”

Her appointment is effective 2 August.

The promotion follows two recent sales leadership appointments earlier this month, with Nick Unger named head of sales – regional NSW, with Holly Bradley replacing him in the role of head of TV sales – Sydney.

On the content and insights side of the business, SCA revealed the appointment of respected programmer Scott Muller in a newly created head of insights role.
