SCA posts $91.395m loss, but revenue from audio on the up
Southern Cross Austereo’s financial results for the 2019 financial year reveal a loss of $91.395m, despite a slight 0.5% revenue increase from the year prior.
Revenue was up to $660m, and in the audio segment of its business – including radio networks such as Triple M and the Hit Network, and podcast operation Podcast One – it was up 2.3% to $453.4m.

Interesting that Boomtown is attributed to the 1.5% growth in regional radio revenue… it was launched in the back end of the fin year. Any impact it has had will be realised in the second qtr of 2020… let’s be real. Congratulations to your sales staff, it looks like they did their job in a challenging market.
Boomtown has NOTHING to do with the regional boost. It was all the regional direct sales people working their butts off…
Reduction in marketing?
So… you “partnered” with the TV networks and press so they could fill the gap?
Anyone catch the chief revenue officer on hughsey and kate a few weeks back? 10% of revenue for 36% of the population says hughsey what’s that mean? Chief revenue officers response some thing to the effect of sales aren’t doing their jobs. Good work on Boomtown, fantastic results so far!
